Student Leadership

We feel it is important for our young people to feel empowered and have a say in how they feel aspects of the Academy should be run. Therefore, we offer a range of opportunities for students to take on leadership roles.

At Oasis Academy Pinewood we understand that having that chance to feel heard by your peers and by our staff, being able to take part in special school activities and that finding your voice among the crowd is life changing for some. Therefore we give all of our pupils the chance to be a part of the student leadership team, and to be involved in all events across the year.

Introducing the Student Council

We are proud to have a democratically elected student council. 

They meet regularly with Mrs Murphy (our Student Council Lead) and invited members of staff to ensure that our academy is continuing to observe its principal objectives.

They also lead fund raising events for local, national and global causes.

Digital Leaders

These children applied for this role and were appointed due to their interest and skills in Computing.  Their role is to promote computing, online safety and provide support for their peers and staff in using equipment and developing the curriculum.

Peer Mediators

Peer mediators are specially trained to support their peers in managing conflict and friendship issues.  

Play Leaders and Mini Mid-Days

These children have leadership roles at lunch and playtimes

Sports Crew

Our sports crew promotes fitness and wellbeing to their peers during play and lunch.  They run and lead activities.
